Administrative Specialist I (part-time 50%), Education Graduate Program

The Department of Graduate Programs with the college of Education, Health and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Tennessee at Martin is seeking qualified applicants for the part-time position of Administrative Specialist I. This part-time (50%) position is a year-to year appointment and continuation of employment is dependent upon the needs of the department and the University.
Responsibilities include:
Performs secretarial/clerical duties and assists in recruitment for the CEHBS graduate Program/Faculty according to University Department policies and procedures.
Assists the Graduate Student Services Coordinator when necessary.
Performs work under established practices and policies.
Refers unusual problems to supervisor.
Prepares letters, reports, records, and other documents from rough drafts and corrected copies.
Compiles and prepares reports; performs records management.
Assists in recruiting of graduate students and data collection.
Performs other related duties.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or some college and specialized education and three-four years office experience.
The ability to apply judgment in the development of approaches and techniques for solving problems
The Education Graduate Programs are accredited programs that require a very large amount of data tracking, student help, etc
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with one-two years office experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
